QuikBooth Your events

QuikBooth Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

We operate QuikBooth, an online photobooth service for events. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you create an event, use a booth, view an album or contact us. Our Terms of Use explain the conditions for using the service.

You can contact us at support@quikbooth.com about privacy, access to your information, corrections or deletion.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you give us and information generated when you use the service:

Information Examples and purpose
Account details Your name, email address, sign-in details and records of your agreement to our terms and adult-host confirmation. We use these to manage your account, record your agreement and protect access.
Event details Event names, settings, captions, logos and backgrounds. We use these to run and personalise the event.
Event and purchase history Permanent event and purchase references, account links, creation, activation and deletion times, upload counts, Checkout and payment references, amounts paid, discounts and refund status. We use these for support, payment reconciliation and aggregate service metrics. These records survive event deletion.
Photos Photos, composed strips and associated upload details. We use these to provide event albums and downloads.
Technical information IP addresses, browser and device details, page addresses, account identifiers and error records. We use these to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
Correspondence Your email address, messages, attachments and details you provide when requesting help. We use these to answer you and handle requests or complaints.

Guests do not need an account or an email address to use a booth. We may receive a photograph of you from another guest even if you do not use QuikBooth yourself.

The booth asks for camera access through your browser. Photos are composed on your device. Choosing to share uploads the photo set, including individual photos and the composed strip, to QuikBooth. We do not receive a continuous live camera feed. An upload you have already started may resume when you reopen the booth.

We do not use facial recognition to identify people or sell personal information. We do not use your photos for advertising, AI training or promotion without separate permission. Our automated emails concern host accounts and events; we do not currently send marketing emails.

3. Children and permission to upload

The Terms of Use require adult hosts and direct supervision of children by a responsible adult, with parent or guardian permission. A child means anyone under 18. A supervising adult other than a parent or guardian must be authorised by the parent or guardian to supervise the child's participation. Before uploading, you must have permission from everyone pictured, including permission from a parent or guardian for a child, covering uploading and sharing through the event. Hosts must make this policy available and explain how their album will be shared.

If a photo of you or your child was uploaded without permission, contact the host or support@quikbooth.com. You do not need an account to request its removal.

4. Who can see photos

The host can access event photos during the event's download period. QuikBooth administrators can also access retained photos to operate the service and handle support, safety or removal requests. The host chooses the album access setting. Anyone with the event code or booth link can open the booth and upload while the event is accepting photos.

Album privacy settings apply only to photos and strips collected through the booth. They do not protect event artwork, such as logos and backgrounds, which may be viewed by anyone with its link.

While guest access is available, an open album can be viewed by anyone with its link, and a PIN album requires guests to use the current PIN. Hidden albums are restricted to the host and QuikBooth administrators. These settings also apply to individual photo links, subject to the host and administrator access described above. Guest access ends at the album's expiry, and host access ends at any applicable download deadline.

Hosts can change album settings, including who can see existing photos. They must have appropriate permission before widening access.

People who can view photos may save, screenshot or share them. Hosts can also request an archive containing event photos. Anyone holding a valid archive download link can generally use it until it expires or is revoked. During a new paid event's host-only download period, the host must sign in. Trial archive links stop working at trial expiry.

We cannot remove copies that other people have downloaded or shared outside QuikBooth. Browser caches on devices that viewed a photo under an earlier access setting may retain it after access changes or the source is deleted. Please consider these limits before sharing private or sensitive images.

5. Service providers and overseas processing

We use service providers for hosting, photo storage, email delivery, payments, analytics, security, monitoring and technical support. They process account information, uploads, technical records or correspondence as needed for those services, and may use other companies to help deliver them. Payment details are handled through our payment provider's checkout. QuikBooth stores payment references and amounts rather than full card details.

Our providers may store or process personal information in Australia, the European Union, the United States and other countries where they operate. This includes hosting, email, payment processing, analytics and support. Locations can vary between services and may change over time. We do not guarantee that photos or other information remain in Australia or any single country. Contact us if you need more information about the providers or locations relevant to your information.

We may also disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law, including when responding to unlawful activity or a serious safety issue.

6. Cookies and storage on your device

We collect usage statistics to understand and improve QuikBooth. Analytics reports exclude your name, email address and photo content. A temporary random browser identifier lets us count repeat participation within the same event for up to 48 hours; it is not reused across events.

We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep hosts signed in, remember access permissions, protect the service and recover interrupted uploads. Some cookies last beyond a single visit, including when you choose to stay signed in.

After you choose to share, pending photos may remain on your device until upload completes or the app clears them on a later visit. Clearing QuikBooth's site data removes these local copies but may prevent an unfinished upload from completing.

Blocking cookies or local storage can prevent sign-in, PIN access or upload recovery from working. Photos you save to your device remain there until you remove them. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising trackers.

7. How long information is kept

Event photos: Capture, album access and host download periods depend on the event's offer and settings. The applicable periods are explained in the offer shown before purchase or trial use and on the event's pages. Our Terms of Use explain the expiry and deletion rules, and notice, downloads and refunds if the service permanently closes. Save copies you want to keep while downloads are available.

Access ends at the applicable deadline, even if the files have not yet been removed. We schedule photo cleanup after the event's retention period, including any applicable grace period, and take reasonable steps to complete it and address failures. Technical problems can delay cleanup. Expiry does not mean immediate erasure from every system or recovery copy.

Downloads and deletion: Download archives are temporary and have an expiry time. Removing a photo set also removes the event's stored download archives and cancels its pending builds. Their existing links stop working, and the host can request a new archive of the remaining photos. Downloads already in progress and copies already saved cannot be recalled. Contact us or the host to request photo removal.

Other records: Photo expiry does not automatically delete the host account, event details or branding. Contact us to request account deletion. We keep support, security and operational records according to their purpose, the need to resolve enquiries or investigate faults, legal requirements and any ongoing dispute. We take reasonable steps to remove or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for those purposes. We will explain any retention that affects a deletion request.

Event and purchase history may remain after an event or account is deleted for payment reconciliation, refunds, support, disputes and service reporting. These records do not currently expire automatically. Completing account deletion removes the active profile and hosted events, photos, download archives and artwork, subject to the recovery-copy limitations below. We retain only the limited records needed for transactions, disputes, security, legal obligations and carrying out deletion requests. This includes a record of the deletion so we can reapply it if information is restored from a backup. Retained references may still be linked to earlier records; we do not treat them as anonymous merely because the account has been removed. We aim to limit retained personal information to what is needed for these purposes.

Recovery copies: Deleted information may remain for a time in backups, email recovery systems, logs or other copies held by service providers. Those copies follow separate retention and recovery processes, so deleting information from the active service does not necessarily remove every copy at once. We cannot promise an exact time when every provider-held copy will be erased. Such copies do not extend your album access or guarantee that we can recover a deleted photo for you.

8. Access, correction and removal requests

Email support@quikbooth.com to request access to or correction of your information, removal of a photo, or deletion of an account. You can also ask the event host to remove a photo set.

For a photo request, include the event code or link and enough detail to identify the image. Guest uploads are not linked to a verified guest identity, so we may need a visual check and reasonable evidence that you are pictured or entitled to act for the person pictured. Please do not send identity documents unless we explain why they are needed.

We aim to respond within 30 days. If a request takes longer, we will explain why and give an update. We will consider other people's privacy when providing copies or taking action. If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain the reason and available next steps.

9. Security and incidents

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, using safeguards such as encrypted connections and restricted account access. No online service can guarantee complete security. Keep account credentials, event codes, PINs and download links secure.

If we become aware of an incident affecting personal information, we will investigate, take appropriate containment steps and make notifications required by applicable law. Because guests do not provide contact details, contacting affected guests may require help from event hosts or a notice on our website. Our current logs may not identify every person who viewed a photo.

10. Complaints and changes

Send privacy complaints to support@quikbooth.com, describing what happened and the outcome you seek. We aim to respond within 30 days. If unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. Its ability to consider the complaint depends on whether the relevant privacy law applies to the business and the complaint.

We will publish changes to this policy with a revised date. For a material change to how we handle information, we will provide a clear notice and obtain any consent required before applying that change. Updating this policy does not give us permission to use existing photos for advertising, AI training or promotion.
